The Search for Salmon

The Search for Salmon is an expert-level Kaizo. The aim of this hack isn’t to troll or torture the player, but rather to provide an extremely difficult challenge in a fair and interesting way. Players will need to employ a wide range of Kaizo and Item Abuse skills. Shell, spring, and p-switch tricks are used alongside tight platforming and jump control. Beginners will likely be very frustrated, but seasoned players will hopefully find a fresh, fun challenge. There are however, a few Kaizo boxes (both marked and un-marked) and few tricks and traps along the way. The game also features optional coins to collect for “100%” runs, and some secret rooms and surprises to discover. There’s even a checkpoint-save room so console players can rest without fear of losing any progress! Extensive play-testing has been done by myself and others to confirm that the entire game is indeed RTA-viable. I hope you enjoy it! Edit - Had to fix a few more potential music problems that would lead to crashes. Everything should be solid now. Documentation included - version 1.2

Hello and welcome! Thanks for checking out my hack! You've made a fine choice!
The Search for Salmon is the most recent landmark I've managed to construct over the course of a lifetime playing SMW. To me this is much more like making music or performance art than than designing an obstacle course for somebody else or a 'game' in the traditional sense. In that spirit, I made this from a personal place of self-expression, to elevate that which I consider to be beautiful in the form itself. I look up to artists whose works demonstrates a high degree of skill with their medium, and a game like this is no different. There are kaizo boxes. Some of them are marked, even! There are 5 completely optional Kitty Coins per level, for extra exploration and 100% runs! I really do want you to win and I hope you have fun. It's possible and you can do it! Salmon awaits!
This is version 1.2 for SMW Central released 5/20/2018
Changes from 1.0:
- Fixed a bunch of music issues. THERE WERE STILL MUSIC ISSUES IN 1.1 To fix this, we have release a 1.2 version. It is identified as such.
- You can pick between Mario game and Luigi game depending on who you want to play as.
- TAS rooms are no longer hidden anywhere (see "true" version)
- Rejected levels are not present on "Luigi Island" (see "true" version)
- Added anti-framerule patch
- Minor nerfs to a few obstacles. One minor buff.
- Slightly altered the ghost boss room in Level 4. Same concept, reduced lag, cleaner execution.
- Changed the ending trick in Jugemu Landing to something much cooler. It's not a mid-air.
- All save prompts work + checkpoint save box works
- Updated some text boxes
- Overworld events! We got 'em now! Special thanks to Deakula.
- A salmon will appear next to your save file once all 11 exits are cleared! Special thanks to dtothefourth.
Exciting Features:
- 11 Exits and a boss! No secret exits.
- 65 completely optional Kitty Coins, 5 in every level! They unlock nothing and do nothing but they're fun to collect, and some are hidden in cool secret rooms with tough bonus tricks! They also allow for a 100% 'all coins' run.
- Checkpoint save feature! Inside the second room in "Cardboard Box" you'll find a block that saves your game. You can exit a level that you have the checkpoint on, save in this room and it will save your checkpoint for you as well! Console players rejoice!
- "The Deepest Secret in the Game" There's a lone message box hidden somewhere in the game. Nobody has ever found it. Can you?
