The Rock 'n' Roll Mario Show: Set Two

“Good evening SMWCentral, and welcome to the Hi-Fi Kaizo Theater. We’ve got an extraordinary show for you tonight. Returning to the stage after a yearlong break is Mario, here tonight to play music from 24 different artists and perform acrobatic feats that are sure to leave you amazed and astounded. Ladies, Gentlemen, and everyone in between, without further adieu… The Rock ‘n’ Roll Mario Show: Set Two. Enjoy!”
Set Two weighs in on the lighter side of Kaizo: Expert, with later levels and a final castle that will challenge even veteran players. There are three main paths along the overworld, each with a switch palace at the end. The final castle changes based on the number of switches you complete. And to cap it all off, we’ve prepared a dazzling custom boss for you to fight.
For players who want an extra challenge, there is an optional fourth switch that turns on hidden blocks throughout the game. Players who dare attempt this feat will be granted screen scrolling powers for their troubles.
And for you secret hunters out there, we’ve hidden 13 rooms throughout the game for you to find. There is one in each level, except for the three switch palaces, the final castle, and the boss. For double-exit levels, the secret room is always found in the second section.
Good luck, have fun, and don’t forget to hydrate. Rocking and rolling is exhausting work.
A note to streamers: To the best of my knowledge, no one has received a DMCA strike for music contained in this hack, nor has anyone gotten their vod muted by Twitch. YouTube will complain about copyrighted music, but will still let you upload your video, albeit without monetization.

v1.1 - I said I wouldn’t do it, but this was a very necessary update. This version features a few choice nerfs and a fix to a potential softlock in the fast pipes level.

When I finished up Set Two, I had the goal of releasing a finished product that would not need a patch.
And here we are, not even two weeks later. Game design is a cruel mistress.
The primary reason for this patch was to fix a softlock / hardlock in the fast pipes level where the player could get stuck in an infinite death loop.
I took this opportunity to apply a few balance changes to the game. Most levels have had at least one jump nerfed to bring them in line with the overall difficulty of the hack.
With any luck, the game is now at its proper difficulty target.
It is still a very hard game.
Best of luck,
-Kaigem
