Super PKlepek World

This is my first hack, it is dedicated to Patrick Klepek, current Senior Reporter at VICE Gaming and long time video game industry journalist and personality.
It’s a pretty short hack with generous checkpoints and is possible to finish in less than 30 minutes.

"Super PKlepek World"
A Super Mario World hack by Akkanben.
----- N O T E S for E V E R Y O N E -----
This game is meant to be a quick enjoyable entry-level hack in
Kaizo: Light. I am, myself, a novice but find a lot of fun in
the memorization and repetition that comes from learning and
creating SMW hacks.
* There are secrets in here but they are more of a "shout out"
style, in a theme dear to Patrick. There are no star levels.
* Indicators: green coins show when you should throw an object,
purple coins for spin jumps, and standard coins clarify
where to go or when to do a normal jump.
* Since this is an entry level hack aimed at someone who has
never played one i.e. Patrick Klepek, there are quite a
few standard Kaizo staples. Hopefully I put enough of a
spin on them to make them fun.
* Patrick Klepek? Patrick has been in the games industry
since he was a teen. He works for Vice Games (Waypoint)
currently where he writes articles voices opinions on the
Waypoint Radio podcast. He previously worked for Kotaku,
Giant Bomb, and numerous other outlets as a freelance
writer and reporter. Patrick also occasionally streams on
Twitch.
----- N O T E S for P A T R I C K -----
As you are no doubt aware, Mario does not control the same as
he does in the Super Mario Maker series. The speed of his
movement and momentum are quite different. There are also
items and enemies still missing from SMM that you will find
in SMW. Some of the things presented also apply to SMM but I
included them for clarity. These notes are an attempt to make
your experience with this hack more enjoyable.
* Clapp'n Chucks can be forced to jump by timing Mario's
jump just right -- as long as he is nearby.
* By grabbing and jumping at the same time you can pick up a
carry-able block and jump off it at the same time.
* The run button can influence Mario's speed even while he
is airborn. If you hold run for the whole duration of the
jump Mario will travel at his slowest speed. If you let off
of the jump button mid-jump Mario will move more quickly.
Additional: By letting off and on the jump button you can
also influence the trajectory of Mario's jump. If you run
and jump and immediately let off the jump button and then
re-press it you can get a low arcing jump with a medium
distance (this type of jump is referred to as a "re-grab").
* You can carry an item while spin-jumping if you toss it
up in the air first and then spin into it while holding
the run button.
* Baby Yoshi will change into a full size, ride-able Yoshi
immediately after eating 5 enemies. Use the spin jump to
jump off Yoshi mid-air.
* The flashing disco shells will follow Mario. His distance
from them influences the speed that they chase. You can
bounce along on the disco shells but their top speed is a
little slower than Mario's top speed while bouncing. I like
to do a quick left-right movement in the air to slow down.
* There is no cape in this hack so don't worry about all the
nonsense you can get up to in SMW with the cape.
* As far as shell jumps go, well, they are much easier to pull
off in SMW. That said, this game doesn't really have shell
jumps in the usual sense. There are a number of shell
bounces, and you'll need to throw shells mid-air, but they
all come at you while you're already moving and the
timing shouldn't be too tricky.
----- C R E D I T S -----
There is a lot of helpful information and many very helpful
people out there when it comes to SMW hacks. All of the
effort I put into this game is nothing when compared to the
work I am building off of. Thank you to all of the people
listed below and thank you to all of the countless other
people that are not.
