------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After nearly two years, I've finally finished my first SMW project. It started out as a
"vanilla" hack, devoutly avoiding anything beyond what the original game had to offer.
However, as I worked on it more and more, I began to incorporate custom palettes, custom
music, a custom overworld, and so on. At this point it's more like a mint-chocolate chip
hack with lots of rainbow sprinkles. I don't use any custom bocks or sprites, but I would
be quick to point out that RttC isn't bland or uninteresting either.

I should warn you up front that this hack isn't organized in a traditional sense. There
are no bosses; there is no final level. Secret exits will often lead back to a level
you've already played. There is a sense of progression, but it doesn't lead into an epic
conclusion like you may want or expect. This hack is really about the levels themselves,
each of which has its own quirk, creative idea, or setting (not to mention its own
palette).

The difficulty is high, but I've taken great pains to remove everything that is terribly
unfair (at least from my perspective). In addition, you can save after every level, so you
don't necessarily have to bother using savestates on the OW to save your progress. Every
level has a midway point (sometimes I wish I could provide two for some levels), and I do
provide powerups. The aim here is to make something challenging without having a
nonexistent margin of error.

There's always the possibility, even after updates and new patches, that there is something I overlooked. Feel free to send a message my way (smwcentral or otherwise) if you find anything buggy, something you feel should be fixed or changed, etc.

Also, if I have forgotten to give credit to somebody, please let me know! The last thing I
want to do is inadvertently take credit for work that isn't mine.

Speaking of which, it's time to give special thanks to the following people:

-FPI, for answering countless questions, doing an awesome betatest, solving a great deal
of the problems I ran into, and above all for lending a helping hand to a SMW neophyte.
Also, for creating the TSRP series, which inspired me to create my own hack. There's probably even more that I can't think of right now. Thanks a lot, FPI!

-Haaaaach, who pointed out everything I never would have noticed in a very thorough betatest.

-S.N.N, for encouraging me to continue making custom music at a point when I wasn't sure whether to stop.

-My Youtube viewers, who commented on just about everything I uploaded. The feedback was
very heplful, so thanks to all of you.

-Darkcomet, who helped me set up ZSNES so I could upload videos in the first place.

-SMWCentral, for providing an excellent wealth of SMW wisdom, among other things.

-FuSoYa, for supporting Lunar Magic even 10 years after its inception.

-Carol, for creating the OW Sprite Editor, which allowed me to use the DKC arrows instead
of Mario paths.

-Romi, for creating an addmusic program I could actually use without breaking my ROM :p

-Januschan, for Translhextion.

-Mikeyk, for Sprite Tweaker (that saved a couple of levels!).

-Yy (?), for YY-CHR.

-Purplebridge001, for the classic fireball patch.

-BMF54123, for the classic piranha plant patch.

-MrCheeze, for the SMW-fix patch.

Again, if I missed anybody, let me know!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That should be all. Enjoy!
