This hack was originally made for the Questionable Level Design Contest of 2021. In a creative fervour of a week and a day I tried to encode my dreams on a poor, unwanting ROM. This brief soliloquy on complex games might serve as a good introduction to very hard Mario games.

  • Checkpoints save.
  • There are 4 yoshi coins in each of the first 4 sub-levels. (They don’t do anything.)

1.2: Multiple sections were heavily reworked to give the player more space and introduce challenges in a classical fashion. The variegated paths were altered to be more equal in treachery. More small changes than I can really recall. Let this be the definitive version.

1.1: Cutoff has been fixed in the black room. The red room now has proper upside-down sprites. The blue room has a better ending and a limit to how far you can rope glitch. All rooms have been revised some.
