Legend of the Rift: Volume 1 Venus
-----------------------------------

Final Release: Version 1.2
April 29, 2011

After 3 years of hacking, I have finally finished my personal hack, Legend of the Rift. What was originally a full project became a novel spanning multiple chapters.
This is the first, detailing the Earth part of the elements. The other chapters will cover Water, Wind, and Fire.

This hack is dedicated to my father, who passed away on April 29, 2010. He was always a motivator in my hacking hobby, and encouraged me to pursue game design. Although
I decided not to become a game designer, his words of encouragement pushed me to work on my hack. After he passed away, my motivation dropped severely. I decidied on a whim
to finish the hack and release it on his one year anniversary as a tribute to him.

Since this hack spanned 3 years, I have forgotten a ton of people to credit. I did my best to credit who I could find into the credits at the end of the game. To everyone else
who I may have forgotten, my apologies. Anything that I have used belongs to their respective owners, including my own work. Please do not rip anything from the ROM. A lot of
content was made only for Legend of the Rift, and I wish for that to hold true.

Special Thanks:

S.N.N. - You provided more help than anyone should ever deserve. I would honestly not be where I am today if it wasn't for you. I am eternally grateful for all your help with
just about everything I needed help with. It got a bit ridiculous at times I'm sure, but it's because of you I finally finished this. Thank you. Not to mention our unwinding
time. That really helped back when my dad was sick, and still does now. You're the best.

Supertails - Putting up with my musings and issues was annoying at times I'm sure, but you were a great help throughout the journey. I thank you for finishing all those requests
I had, as well as letting me borrow content from your work. Also, thanks for being a great friend all around. You are quite the hUnk.

Jacob/Steve/Golden Yoshi/whateverothernamesyou'vehadsinceIstarted - You were one of the first people to help me, and you have been a constant help since. You helped me envision my story
in full. If it wasn't for you, my ideas would never have left ground. I loved the times when we shared our stories with one
another. Even though you released yours a LONG time before mine, it was still an enjoyable time for me :P

Kc - Duuude! I can't believe I finally finished! You were the first one to really help me out, and we quickly became friends. After 3 whole years, here I am releasing it. And I remember
first asking you for help on a pseudo-cutscene. It seems like so long ago! Thanks for the constant help/support. I hope you'll be around for my future chapters :D

Fixed Bugs:

-Fixed an odd bug in Forest Ruins.
-Fixed incorrect screen exit in Isaac's message in Lush Forest.

Bugs:

-Fayre Castle has an odd bug where the layer 2 graphics sometimes duplicate. It only happens occasionally, and I have not found a way to prevent it from happening. I didn't notice
any fatal errors with it.

-The screen scroll sprite in Forest Ruins sometimes causes holes in the immediate area next to it after the screen unlocks. Moving back a bit then moving forward will fix it.
