Aether: The Paramount Omnibus

There are a series of books that were once known and feared for having the all of the knowledge that has ever been learned in human history. These books were long forgotten, but were one day re-discovered by Bowser; you must find the books before he can discover how to use them!
This is a hack that I’ve been working on for a very long time (you may remember a hack called “Super Mario Planet.” This evolved from that). It features graphics that were almost entirely drawn by me (and some Icegoom, naturally), custom music, and many custom blocks. You can find the thread here.
Warning: this hack’s music can break in accurate emulators
Here’s to hoping you enjoy this demo!
July 9th 2019 edit: The progress on the newer version of this hack, Aether: The Infinite Library, is available here.

AETHER: THE PARAMOUNT OMNIBUS, by =D=
Pleasentries, ladies and gentlemen! If you have opened up this file,
you have likely wondered what was in it as soon as you saw it, so you
clicked on it. However, you've also probably opened this up to find out
the solutions to the many puzzles in this hack. Yes, I've been asked a
lot on how to solve them, and all of the puzzle solutions and secret exits
are right here!
World 1: Balmy Bay
-Ruin Run's secret exit: Near the end of the level is a quarry with three
Boos near it; on the bottom right is a secret passage of sorts. Travel down
that passage, and you'll find a pipe to go down. Once you do, go to the
right, and go into the Monty Mole hole that is on the ground (as small
Mario; sorry). You'll find the secret exit from there.
-Capital Palace's puzzle: When you enter the actual palace (right
after the midway point), head all the way to the right and you will find a
passageway. At the end is a shell; take the shell and head to the altar in
the left, and throw it into the centermost part of it to reveal a P-Switch.
Do whatever with it.
-Madness Mirror's puzzle: Hop onto the rock blocks in front of you, and jump
onto the platform in the block above where you started, and hold 'L.' Hop
onto the platform on the mirror wall; the screen will rise up, so that you
can leap onto the block above. Then, hold 'R' and jump to the right, just
before the wall. Hold 'L' when facing to the right to pass by the wall. Head
to the right, and jump onto the the first chandelier that moves. Hold 'L' while
standing on it, and grab the book; then go all the way to the right, and jump
onto the moving chandelier with pale blue blocks on it, then keep moving to the
right. You'll find another wall, but pass that the same way you've passed the
first one. Then, go into the pipe while holding the book.
World 2: Briar Boscage
-Rotary Room Walkthrough: This level is what inspired me to put this guide up
in the first place. The actual answer will be found in the bottom of this
section, just in case you want to pass the level, but don't want to spoil the
answer of the puzzle. When you enter the level, take the upper pathway all the way
to the right, where you will find a door in between two staircases. Read the
sign if you must, but enter the door to go outside and to find a series of
pillars in the background (keep note of the pattern of the protrusions on them).
Go back inside and head to the left to find another door and sign; enter this
door to find a simple room (no secrets here, I swear). Go to the next room to
find the eponymous Rotary Room; go into the left P-Switch activated door to
move the room Counter-Clockwise, and the other door for the opposite. Remember
the pattern of the pillars you found outside to figure this puzzle out...
-Rotary Room Answer: ... Or just do the following: Enter the right door once,
and the left door three times
-Vertigo Village's Secret Exit: A little after the midway point, you will find a
rectangular section of ground with a Lakitu and a vertical length of coins near it;
follow the coins, then go to the right to find a section of the wood you can pass
through; go down until you find a P-Switch. You need not activate it now, but
activate to near the section of wood with blue coins on it and a Hammer Bro near
it; activate the switch, and go through the door.
-Moss Palace's Puzzle 1: When you enter the level, you will see a sign. It's
very smudgy, but that's the key to the puzzle. Read it aloud, and you should find
the solution, but just in case you can't..
-Moss Palace's Answer 1: ...press down near the only vine you'll find in that
part of the level.
-Moss Palace's Puzzle 2: Grab one of the grey blocks, and move to the right until
you find a tiny opening with a bunch of munchers and a blue shell-less Koopa.
Throw the block into that opening, and the Koopa will kick it into a block that
will produce a vine. Climb the vine and jump into the pale green block. The rest
is fairly straightfoward.
-Painful Palace puzzle: Head to the bottom-most part of the level, and take the
Koopa's shell. Then, head back up near the beginning until you find an opening
full of munchers and a vertical series of (what the game calls) Kick-Action Shell
Launchers. Kick the shell in there and wait until it travels to the top to hit a
block containing the book. Take the book, and go to the left to find a spring board.
Take that spring board and the book, and head down near the block moving left and
right. Place the spring board down and spring up (holding the book) to the left to
go onto some pale blue platforms; just go into the pipe, and win.
World 3: Ignition Industries (If you have a better name, please tell me)
-Coal Shoal's Secret Exit: Near the midway point is a pipe. Go into the pipe. Yeah,
sorry for making that one easy.
-Diamond Palace's Puzzle: After a lengthy action level, you'll find the puzzle. When
you find the puzzle, go back into the pipe you came through, and go to the left.
You'll find a shell on a weight-sensitive platform. Take it, and head back into the
puzzle room. Go to the right, and throw the shell upwards (you'll know where) to get
a P-Switch; hit it, and head down, then to the left, travelling up a series of blocks
to a platform above where you started. Hit the blocks for a silver P-switch. Hit that,
and hurry over to the right to the muncher pit; while the silver P-switch is active,
those munchers act as coins. Collect them, and the puzzle is pretty much solved.
So, those are all of the puzzles in the hack. If I have made any mistakes, please send
a PM to =D= at SMWcentral.net, and tell me.
Thanks for playing this hack, whether or not you have enjoyed it or not! Oh, and if
you're wondering about the name "=D=," it's pronounced "Deeke." Just because.
Oh, I'm always so bad at ending these things...
