Mario Can't Remember v1.0 by Quills

15.04.2021 - MCR 1.0 PUBLIC RELEASE

Known Issues:
- clipping through wall on top of barn door in b3 (diagonal alignment)
- invis walls jumping from church in b3
- bowser fight jank
- initial spawn is in wrong location and orientation
- Some music ports have tracks that are too loud or too quiet.
- Rock in OW1+2's texture is rendering as RGB colour for some reason
- 100 coin star stops music in C2
- the challenge of Red Hot Reds is removed on gliden
- ! boxes on bank lag a lot if you open two at once.
- wrestling ring is quicksand ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 
- camera rotates around mario when you spawn after getting a star
- courses 5-15 have not been removed from game or score screen
- 2nd tent interior in c1 has green grass instead of red
- first 2 areas reds in Cold Hard Cash are optional because i am an idiot
- typical sketchup texture issues
- Compiled game is 89% free space

09.04.2021 - MCR 1.2b

Toad will no longer fade in/out.
2 new warp transition images.
OW:
- switched key door warps
- fixed b3 area 1 death warp
- changed angle of all texture animations in OW4
C1:
- turned coin line under MC box in area 4 into a ring
- fixed toads second text box getting cut off (i hope)
- dirt texture has dirt collision
C3:
- added one important letter to drunks text
- fixed the music in the wiggler fight
C4:
- added a sign informing the player about red coin locations
- added Icy's hidden sign
- fixed canon bobombs text getting cut off (i hope)
B1:
- Made Bowser's sign an area message and removed 'stars left' text. hopefully this doesnt kill the music.
B3:
- gave invisible snufits in area 2 a model
- area 2 given B1's former area message
- added sign to B3 mentioning the hidden signs in each course.
- gave final sign bowser text - hopefully this kills the music
- fixed velvet goomba platforms animation speed
- removed collision under spawn buildings

09.04.2021 - MCR 1.1b

Changes made in v1.1b:
- Replaced vanilla endscreen sound.
- Exported then imported odd health meter images.
- Added slope fix tweak.
MC:
- lowered death floor
C1 area 1:
- Increased radius of tent warp.
- Fixed incorrect Star ID's for Obligatory Hiding Spot
- moved coins on slope jump slightly.
- altered the shape of the platform with the slope you triplejump to wallkick off 
C2:
- Fixed incorrect Star ID's for Obligatory Hiding Spot, Slick Green Slates, Meter Maid Mario.
C3:
- moved ! box, added breakable box and removed vertical coin formations at well.
- placed breakable boxes on bank's roof.
- Fixed untextured polygon on barn.
- Dying to Wiggler will now respawn you outside cave.
C4 cavern area:
- Made icy slopes less steep
- made ice stalactites transparent.
- lowered death floor
B1:
- given correct level background (same as OW4)

Many textures are from my unfinished hack After Dark.
B3 level background is from my unfinished hack Luigi's Kart Won't Start.
I cropped and  downscaled several opensource textures from various stock websites that show up in google image search.
All music ports except Terran + Birdman = SMW Central
I ported Terran and Birdman for After Dark using files ripped from their respective games.
"Hover!" graphic = Win95
After Dark graphic = After Dark (the 90's software)
Goombette image = Bea from A Ghost Story webcomic's tumblr
A couple of textures = ripped from Mario Kart 64 (by me and vg-resource.com)
Mario's House, endscreen sprites and maybe a texture or two = ripped from Paper Mario (vg-resource.com)
The astrological signs are traditional.
Dr Who's TARDIS kindly lent by the British Museum to raise awareness for erectile dysfunction.
Desperation is based on a piece of facade in Silverado Movie Town, Santa Fe.

  You will need your own copy of the US Super Mario 64 ROM in z64 format.
  Step 1: Open flips.exe - it is provided with the game.
  Step 2: Click "Apply Patch" and select MCR_1.0.bps
  Step 3: Select Super Mario 64 (!) [U].z64
  Step 4: Select where you would like the rom to save.
  That's it! Open MCR_1.0.z64 in your emulator and set Counter Factor to 1 to play.

How to configure PJ64 1.6 for SM64 hacks:
  Step 1: Install Project 64 1.6 http://www.emulator-zone.com/download.php/emulators/n64/project64/project64_1.6.exe
  Step 2: Select Options / Settings / Show Advanced Settings
  Step 3: Set Options / Settings / Advanced / Default Memory Size to 8mb.
  Step 4: Open MCR_1.0.z64
  Step 5: Set Options / Settings / Rom Settings / Counter Factor to 1.

Q. What is StarManager.exe?
A. SM64 Star Display is a tool made by aglab2 that displays your progress in SM64 ROM Hacks. It's like the overworld pause menu, only better and with many other useful features. To use with MCR right click, select Layout / Load Profile      From... and navigate to Mario Can't Remember.sml
